Building an emotional thread when the archive is incomplete
This case is explicitly presented as a fictional visual memoir. Duplicate portraits and unrelated experimental exhibits were removed, six images were reordered by life stage, and chapter labels replace invented dates. The corridor keeps the visitor moving forward as age gradually emerges through the sequence.
- 6 expressive portraits
- Three life chapters: youth, distance and later years
- An explicitly fictional narrative
- Remove duplicate portraits and unrelated experiments
- Use chapters rather than invented years
- Let age emerge gradually along a corridor
When an archive is incomplete, do not invent an entire life. State what is source material and what is artistic interpretation; restraint builds trust.
